TERROR:
ENDLESS NIGHT

Terror: Endless Night is a strategy game set in the 19th century.

The story, inspired by true events, unfolds aboard a ship on a rescue mission to find two missing Royal Navy vessels: HMS Erebus and HMS Terror, which ventured into the Arctic seeking a passage to East Asia but vanished without a trace. Your expedition's goal was to locate them and discover the fate of their crews, including your own son.

Unfortunately, your ship becomes trapped in the frozen ocean, leaving you and your crew stranded amidst an icy desert. Your survival and the discovery of what happened to the other two ships and your son remain uncertain.

Terror: Endless Night is the most narratively complex title I've worked on, with the story serving as a driving force behind the gameplay. This necessitated crafting a multi-threaded narrative encompassing the struggle to escape the icy trap, the search for a missing son, a series of mysterious murders, and the gradual descent into madness. The aim was to create a narrative layer akin to an interactive book, culminating in approximately 150,000 words. The majority of quests are intricate, intertwining with others, and offer multiple possible endings.

The game is based on the true story of a 19th-century maritime expedition, requiring adherence to specific frameworks regarding style, overall history, characters, their backgrounds, and objectives. Despite the horror elements often touching on supernatural phenomena, my goal was to craft a story that could be rationally explained.

In addition to narrative design, I contributed to developing game mechanics, implemented texts in Unity, and primarily wrote in Polish, occasionally translating segments into English as needed.
